2019 Spring Break News and Updates

Updated: Apr 1, 2019

The team hopes everyone had an amazing spring break! We had a very productive break and we have many updates to share with you:

The Mechanical subteam continued to do material testing and analysis of the car chassis using Patran, SolidWorks, and Excel. The team was testing materials under different load scenarios for selection of the right tubes for different sections. The subteam also worked to develop torsion bar and moment of inertia requirement calculations.

The Solar subteam spent the last few weeks encapsulating 2x3 arrays using our new cells. Three of these arrays have been completed and are showing very good results. They will continue producing these arrays with the goal of producing 8 of them by the end of March.

Our new space at Lindley Hall

Also, great news for our whole organization! The team was granted space on campus in Lindley Hall! Lindley is connected to the Earth and Science building in the basement! It's a fixer-upper, but we now have a space we can call our own.
